Community Service Programs of West Alabama Now has a Crisis Line.

We have created a New Crisis Line for households experiencing a crisis (such as a service disconnection). In an effort to streamline our Crisis Line process, we will no longer accept walk ins. If you believe you meet our crisis criteria, please call the Crisis Line to schedule or visit our website to schedule an appointment. The line will be open Monday to Thursday. The Crisis Line number will be publicized January 2026.

Crisis Criteria is as follows:

A household member who is elderly (60 years or older)

Children (17 years or younger) in the home

A medical condition aggravated by weather conditions
If your situation meets one of the criteria above and your service is disconnected, please contact our Crisis Line to schedule an appointment.

CSP provides its core services to those in need throughout a 10-county area, encompassing Bibb, Choctaw, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa.​
In addition, CSP provides Head Start services in a six-county area: Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, and Tuscaloosa. Early Intervention services are provided in Bibb, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties.
As a community action agency, the governance body is tripartite, composed of one-third elected officials or their representatives, one-third business/civic organizations, and one-third low-income individuals/organizations.
Housing Programs
The Housing Programs Division is headquartered in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and serves 11 West Alabama counties by providing various housing initiatives including new housing developments (both single family homes and multi-family units), weatherization, home rentals, and a robust financial capabilities program.
