CSP Rentals

Innovative programs are increasingly necessary to provide working families the opportunity to obtain decent, safe and affordable housing. Since its community development efforts began, CSP has led an effort to resolve inadequate housing stock in Tuscaloosa and a number of rural communities. Family oriented apartment communities and opportunities for home ownership are important components of a stable community.

Housing Rehabilitation

CSP operates, with funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s, the following programs in an 11-county service area consisting of Bibb, Choctaw, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties: Healthy Homes and Older Adult Home Modification. Additionally, CSP manages Strengthen Alabama Home’s Fortified Roofing program. CSP also administers the Weatherization Assistance Program to eligible households in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa counties. Funding and eligibility for weatherization services are determined by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).

Financial Capabilities

The purpose of financial capability programs is to help participants reach their financial goals specific to housing and build their financial well-being through improved credit, debt, and savings. Financial capability is the capacity, based on knowledge, skills, and access to manage financial resources prudently and effectively.
