Community Service Programs of West Alabama and NeighborWorks America Partnership

Community Service Programs of West Alabama (CSPWAL) is proud to serve as a

registered and active member of the national NeighborWorks America network, a

congressionally chartered nonprofit organization that supports community

development and affordable housing efforts across the United States. Through this

partnership, CSPWAL contributes to a nationwide movement of nearly 250 local

organizations working collectively to expand access to affordable housing,

strengthen financial capability and build more resilient communities.

NeighborWorks America’s national network plays a significant role in advancing

housing stability and economic mobility. In Fiscal Year 2025 alone, the

NeighborWorks network helped create 17,600 homeowners or preserve 11,400

affordable homes, supported over 48,700 jobs, repaired more than 66,000

homes, and provided housing and financial counseling to over 102,000 families

and individuals nationwide. These achievements demonstrate the powerful impact

that coordinated local efforts can have when combined through a national

framework of community-focused organizations.

As a member of this network, Community Service Programs of West Alabama

directly contributes to these national outcomes by delivering critical housing

stability services within the West Alabama region. CSPWAL works with families and

individuals across its service footprint to address barriers to housing security

through financial counseling, homeownership readiness programs, and community

development initiatives. Through these efforts, CSPWAL helps residents strengthen

their financial capability, stabilize housing situations, and pursue long-term

opportunities for homeownership and economic advancement.

In addition to serving local residents, CSPWAL’s participation in the NeighborWorks

network provides access to national training, technical assistance, and

professional development opportunities, allowing agency staff to continually

enhance their expertise in affordable housing, community development, and

financial empowerment. This exchange of knowledge strengthens CSPWAL’s ability

to implement best practices while also contributing insights from West Alabama to

the broader national network.

stability and community vitality throughout West Alabama. By aligning local service
