TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Community Service Programs of West Alabama (CSP) is excited to announce the launch of Healthy Homes, a HUD-funded program that promotes childhood wellness and safety by addressing 29 hazards commonly found in homes.

Healthy Homes is designed to help homeowners and rental tenants keep their home dry, clean, safe, well-ventilated, pest-free, contaminant free, well-maintained, and thermally controlled.

Applications are being accepted now from homeowners, renters, and landlords (on behalf of low-income tenants) in Bibb, Choctaw, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa Counties. Eligible households will meet income limits and have children under six live in or frequently visit the home. 

“Healthy Homes adds tremendous value to CSP’s portfolio of resources,” noted Kimberly Montgomery, CSP’s Healthy Homes Program Support Specialist.  “It is an honor to implement this beneficial program, and we encourage those interested to apply quickly to schedule an in-home assessment while funds last.”

CSP is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. Its list of services includes financial literacy education, emergency rental and mortgage assistance, rehabilitation services, food assistance, diaper assistance, child development services, and energy-payment assistance.
